Ice is applied to numb the area before injection. Most patients experience no or minimal pain. At Enhancements, we always ice first because it results in less pain, less swelling and less chance of bruising.

Almost all of Dr. Sackman’s cosmetic surgeries are performed in his comfortable, in-office surgical suite. This provides a more relaxed, private experience with the same high standards of care.

Most procedures use local anesthesia, which means you are awake but feel no pain. Sedatives are available for patients who prefer to be more relaxed. For some procedures, general anesthesia with a qualified anesthesia provider is an option.

Usually yes, when local anesthesia is used. The exception is eye surgery, where you should arrange for someone to drive you. Dr. Sackman will advise you during your consultation.

IPL is a mini-procedure which uses an intense pulsed light to remove almost any skin discoloration such as freckles, age spots, red spots, spider veins, birthmarks, and small moles.

A cold gel is applied to the skin first, then a small, bright light is applied in short bursts to the treatment area. The procedure is quick and comfortable.

There is no recovery time. The treated area may be slightly pink for a short time. You can return to your normal routine immediately. Treated spots will darken and flake off over the following days.

Currently, it is believed that 5 treatments are needed to remove most of the hair from an area. The best results occur for people with dark hair and light skin.

White, gray or light blond hair cannot be removed with laser treatment because the laser targets the pigment in the hair shaft. Dark hair responds best to treatment.
